In this workshop, Mike Hogan will share some of what he learned from his time as 'Head of People' in a corporate environment, where he had overall HR responsibility and supported the internal team to deliver ongoing excellence through engagement, coaching and people development. He will link this to our work as language and skills trainers - how can we better connect our offers to the HR department's requirements? In three sections (see below) we will hear from Mike about what he observed and how thins carries over to our training work. In the final section there will be a Q+A opportunity for participants to outline a scenario they are facing and get advice from an insider's perspective on possible next steps. 1. What I learned from 2 years on the inside. What does HR do and what really matters to HR? What are their pain points? 2. Practical ideas for the classroom/ training room. How the information from section one can be leveraged to help us deliver relevant and impactful training as well as winning the work in the first place. 3. Trainer clinic: extended Q+A, troubleshooting and peer support.
