It's ELTABB's great pleasure to announce that the one and only Penny Ur will be giving a workshop in the first part of this year's ELTABB AGM event. Members from all ELTAs are welcome to attend (we just ask you to leave before the actual AGM). Workshop Title: Penny's Top 30 Teaching Tips "This session presents a series of practical teaching tips. These are primarily based on my decades of classroom experience teaching English to all ages and levels in a country where English is little spoken outside the classroom, but enriched occasionally by insights from the research." The session will be adapted for teachers of largely adult groups. There will be time for a Q&A afterwards. Speaker bio: Penny Ur has thirty years' experience as an English teacher in primary, secondary and tertiary education and has taught courses for teachers at BA and MA level at Oranim Academic College of Education and Haifa University. She has also lectured extensively at language teachers' conferences worldwide. Her books include Grammar practice activities (2nd Edition) (2009), Vocabulary activities (2012), A course in English language teaching (2012), Discussions and more (2014), Penny Ur's 100 tips (2016), all published by Cambridge University Press. In 2013 she was awarded the OBE (Officer of the British Empire) by Her Majesty the Queen for services to English language teaching. Picture by: Sam Dan Truong on Unsplash
