Hello and welcome to ELTAU’s shiny new blog! You may be wondering why ELTAU needs a blog and how we’re planning on using it – we have a perfectly good newsletter after all. Well, keep reading because you’re about to find out.
Most blogs are regularly updated web pages, typically consisting of short, punchy articles or ‘quick’ reads. According to the writer Andrew Sullivan, “Blogging is to writing what extreme sports are to athletics: more free-form, more accident-prone, less formal, more alive. It is, in many ways, writing out loud.” So, it’s a way of keeping in touch, keeping you updated and informing you about key aspects of our work pretty much as things happen.
Our blog is written with members and non-members in mind (unlike our newsletter which is for members only) so you can come here and expect to find:
- Updates on forthcoming events
- Brief reviews on past events (more detailed write-ups will be available in our newsletter)
- Board updates and information
- Short articles and snippets on topical EFL issues
We plan to update our blog a couple of times a month but here’s the interesting part… we would love involvement from our members. If you have any ideas or suggestions or would like to write a short blog post on something interesting you’ve read about or maybe on an engaging webinar you’ve attended, we’d love to hear from you. Getting published online is an exciting and rewarding experience – if you’d like to flex your writing muscles with a short piece for our blog then please do contact Claire Smith, Newsletter Editor on newslette(a)eltau.de.
